Forex is not like futures or stocks exchanges, in that Forex is a 24-hour business.
Traders in Forex can be banks trading with other banks with other brokers, with foreign exchange brokers, and with individuals. Foreign exchange is like an over-the-counter market that never sleeps. This also means that even though one market has closed, other markets have opened. This means that a trading pair can continue to be traded continually without sleep, through the European, US, and Asian markets. This can also make a difference on trading price from when you personally close, and reopen. Any world reaction to specific economic pointers will directly reflect on your trading prices, your trading pairs, while you have been asleep.
There is virtually no human way to monitor this kind of trading 24 hours a day, seven days a week, simply because we’ll need rest, and we have social hours, and social lives to maintain.
This is where certain types of Forex automation coming to their own. They can monitor constantly, without fail, and can easily check trends, and even buy and sell for us while we sleep, and some can sell when a downturn is beginning to happen after a significant rise. The artificial intelligence will tend to certain algorithms make them almost indispensable, and self maintaining. Although there are market factors that can cause the software to function incorrectly, or misunderstand the data, but this is the problem with software not having a real human mind, and as we all know life cannot be equated one hundred percent to a mathematical formula. However, programmers are becoming much better at working out these formulas, and then make him a time when the algorithm is perfected that will cause all trading by human hands to cease. How far we are away from this scenario, is speculation, and for the most part it will not be tomorrow.
